| Tanker driver dies, 3 CRPF jawans wounded in accident | | | Srinagar| Jan 18 A tanker driver was killed and three jawans of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured in a head on collision between two vehicles near Awantipora, here this morning. An over-speedy Sawraj Mazda of CRPF collided with an Oil Tanker, RK-31G/0468, on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Chachkote, Awantipora, early this morning. The mishap led to on the spot death of tanker driver and injuries to three CRPF personnel, official sources told News Agency of Kashmir. The deceased driver has been identified as Rakesh Kumar son of Surender Kumar of Jammu. The injured CRPF personnel were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where their condition was stated to be out of danger. Police said that it has registered a case against the CRPF vehicle, which was allegedly being driven rashly and negligently. Meanwhile, in a separate mishap a pedestrian identified as Showkat Ahmad Mir of Aripathan Magam was hit by a motorcyclist at Kandhama under the jurisdiction of police station Magam. The injured has been shifted to hospital and a case has been registered in this regard at Police station Magam.
