Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 17 : Jammu and Kashmir government has planned to regulate traffic mess in the winter capital under comprehensive mobility plan. ''Government is concerned for traffic and steps are being taken to tackle the menace,'' Jammu Divisional Commissioner Pawan Kotwal told reporters here today. Dr Kotwal said, ''the traffic mess will be curbed once the report of survey conducted under comprehensive mobility plan is submitted to the authorities.'' The Divisional Commissioner said the final report of the survey, which is being conducted in Jammu and Srinagar, would be submitted in March. ''Steps will be taken after submission of the report as it would help us in chalking out a strategy to meet the menace,'' he added. Presently, installation of signal lights at selective places, CCTVs, and projects of new flyovers have been taken into consideration to temporarily meet the rising traffic in the state, Dr Kotwal added.
