Locals hold protest against medical negligence | | | early times report Rajouri, Feb 18: A large number of people today held a protest outside Government District Hospital (GDH) Rajouri alleging medical negligence resulting into the death of a 60 years old patient. Relatives of the deceased and locals alleged 60 year old patient Nazir Ahmed S/O Habibulah R/O Kakora Manjakote was admitted to district Hospital after he was suffering from asthma but doctors didn't provide him timely help resulting into his death. Raising slogans against health authorities and management of hospital, locals of Kheora area and relatives of deceased patient held protest in front of hospital and also blocked the main road leading to Kheora, Darhal and Thanamandi. Later civil and police administration officials rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors assuring them to take the matter with concerned higher authorities. Meanwhile the doctors at Hospital denied any negligence and a senior doctor of hospital on anonymity told that patient died due to acute attack of asthma in the ongoing cold. He however defended that doctors on duty did their best to save the ailing person. When contacted Additional Dy Commissioner (Adll DC) Mohd Matloob Khan accounted as per preliminary investigation no medical negligence was found however patient died due to acute illness. |
