Vivekananda College celebrates Shivratri | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Feb 18: Viveka-nanda College of Education today organized Shiv-Vivah ahead of Shivratri Festival in its campus today where in large no. of devotees were present including students of B.Ed, E.T.T, faculty members and parents of students besides a large crowd from the adjoining areas of the college. Dr. Vikas Gupta, Asstt. Commissioner, kathua was the chief Guest of the programme. Programme started with Arti of Lord Shiva by Vivekananda family and group of jangams invited to perform the katha. Jangams narrated the whole story related to shiva-parvati's marriage along with traditional Bhajan. Various popular scenes were also created by them in which students acted whole-heartedly with great devotion. All the devotees supported them by singing songs and hearing katha with religious fervor, gaiety and devotion. Katha ended with famous Arti Hari Om Namah Shivay. Prasad of Halwa was distributed to all present on the occasion. At the conclusion of Shiva-Vivah collective prayer for global peace and welfare of humanity was observed by all. |
