DIG Kamal Saini giving prize in sports camp organized by IRP 15th Bn | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 18: Two day debate/sports camp organized by IRP 15th Battalion at Government Middle School Barnai concluded here today. The camp was organized under the Civic Action Programme being carried out by Jammu and Kashmir Police in different parts of the State. The camp was inaugurated by Inspector General of Police Armed, Jammu, Gulzar Singh Salalthia the other day and was aimed to bring awareness among the students and the public about drug abuses and inspire the youth towards the sports activities. During the camp a debate on drug abuses and various sports activities were held which included volley ball, badminton, kho-kho, kabaddi and tug of war. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Armed, Dr. K. K. Saini, was he Chief Guest at the closing function which was also attended by Commandant IRP 15th Battalion, Mrs. Anita Sharma, Deputy Superintendents of Police, Sandeep Kumar Mehta, Tabasum Parveen, Kiran Bala and Tejender Kour, ZEO, Dumana, members of civil society and senior citizens of the area. On the occasion, Dr. Saini, deliberating on the aims for conducting such events, said that the occasions provides an opportunity to the police and the public to get together, besides encouraging students to take part in the debates and sports activities. This also bring awareness among the common masses and enhance talent among the budding children. The DIG further said that various other activities are being carried out under the Civic Action Programme in other areas including poor pockets. He said that people especially the youth are being benefited though these schemes who should avail the opportunity. |
