Knight Riders win Range level T20 tourney | | | Early Times Report
POONCH, Feb 19: Knight Riders clinched the Range level Twenty20 Cricket Tournament which was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police under Civic Action Programme at Government Degree College ground, here. In the final played today, Knight Riders outplayed Kings XI Poonch by a big margin of 65 runs. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Knight Riders set a target of 118 runs for the loss of six wickets, which, in reply, Kings XI could not chase and the whole side bowled out for just 52 runs in 14 overs. Gurvinder was declared man of the match while Rocky of winners, Night Riders was adjudged man of the series. The winners were presented a cash prize of Rs 10,000 while runners-up Kings XI received Rs 7,000 as award money in the shape of a cheque from chief guest, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Rajouri-Poonch range, Rajesh Kumar. Principal of the host college, Prof GL Sharma and retired Assistant Director, Nater Singh were guests of honour.The chief guest, stressed upon the youth to take active part in extra-curricular activities besides studies and refrain from bad activities. He assured of more such events in future too. Among others present were Yougal Manhas, ASP Poonch, Dy.SP Headquarters Haq Nawaz,, Mohd Azeem Qureshi DY.SP DAR, Dy.SP Surankote Pardeep Singh, Superintendent ITI Sagar Sharma, SHO Poonch S.S. Baloria and other district officers
