Relief Com. to furnish clarification to Vigilance Organization | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 19 : The issue pertaining to a case filed against the Relief Commissioner (Migrants) and a private firm, Mayatas Rithwik, by the Vigilance Organisation has been the outcome of delay in certain clarifications, according to highly placed official sources in the Government. The Vigilance Organization has taken cognizance in the matter and has sought clarification from the Relief Commissioner (Migrants) Vinod Kaul and the private firm as the Vigilance Organization reportedly had detected some irregularities which had caused a loss to the state exchequer to the tune of over Rs two crores when two-room tenements for the Kashmir migrants at Jagti was undertaken. The sources said that the Relief Commissioner had prepared a detailed report in support of his contention that he had not committed any irregularity that could have caused loss to the state exchequer. According to the sources, the report of Mr Kaul would be in the shape of a clarification that was to be submitted to the Vigilance Organisation. Official circles in the Relief Commissioner's office said that Kaul's career and record as Relief Commissioner (Migrants) has remained an open book. It is because of his sincere and honest efforts that he has been able to provide basic amenities to the displaced families. |
