Teachings of Guru Ravi Dass beacon light for society: Tara Chand | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 19 : Describing Guru Ravi Dass as pre-eminent saint, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand paid rich tributes to the great seer and called for following the teaching of Guru Ji. He said through his teachings Guru ji spread the message of equality, peace and service to mankind. "Teachings of Guru ji are beacon light for the society, as he gave the message of universal brotherhood, mutual co-existence and devotion to supreme lord," he added. Tara Chand was addressing a mammoth gathering of Guru Ravi Dass birth anniversary function held at Khour, today. The function was part of 635th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Ravi Dass Ji. Among others the function was attended by President, All J&K Guru Ravi Dass Sabha Piran Ditta, President Guru Ravidass Sabha, Khour Shamsher Singh, Working President, Block Khour Suram Singh and Milkhi Ram. The Deputy Chief Minister said real tribute to the saints is to adopt their teachings in life and work for establishing an egalitarian society, adding that besides preaching for a spiritual way of living, they have worked for establishing a class less society in which all human beings are equal before the god and nobody is supreme by birth. "Great spiritual leaders and social reformers like Guru Ravi Dass ji have shown us the righteous way of living and spread the universal message of mutual co-existence, love and devotion to the supreme lord," he remarked. Reiterating resolve of the government to work for welfare of all sections of the society, Tara Chand said all out efforts have launched to address welfare issues of the people and the government has initiated various social welfare schemes to ameliorate the lot of marginalized. |
