Despite tall claims 'discrimination with Jammu' still continues: BJP | 'Jammu based Cong leaders surrendered before Kashmir-centric leaders' | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 19: Discrimi-nation with Jammu still continues despite tall claims of the state's coalition government asserted BJP leadership here today during a massive Karyakarta Sammelan organized at Gole Gujral Talab Tillo. This was alleged by BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas while addressing a massive "Karyakarta Sammelan" at Gole Gujral Talab Tillo Mandal of Jammu West Constituiency which was organised by Jammu Distt BJP under Rajesh Gupta. Speaking on the occasion Manhas said that although the NC-Congress ministers and MLAs have been misleading the masses of giving equal treatment to all the three regions of the state but the fact still remains that Jammu and Ladakh are being discriminated. "Be it allocation of funds by the centre or the state for development, preservation of water bodies or developing tourist spots, in every sphere Jammu gets ill treatment, he said. BJP state president categorically underlined that the party will continue with its struggle for the rights of the masses and never compromise on the issues like corruption, nepotism, discrimination and religion based politics. In his address National Executive Member Dr Nirmal Singh said that while our state has ranked number two in corruption, the Congress-led UPA at the centre too is heading towards creating record in corruption and shielding its corrupt ministers. National Executive Member & MLA Ashok Khajuria said that the Jammu-based elected representatives of Congress have totally surrendered before the Kashmir-centric leaders for the sake of chair and have failed to fulfill any of the promises made during the 2008 assembly elections. State General Secretary Sat Sharma (C.A.) said that the announced election for the local urban bodies will not serve the real motive if 74th amenbment is not implemented in letter and spirit. BJYM State president Munish sharma appealed the youth not to get misled by the assurances of the NC-Congress coalition as the same has proved to be anti-youth in its policies and programmes. Later, over four dozen prominent people of Talab Tillo and adjoining areas led by well known social activist Sat Pal Karlupia joined BJP. They were welcomed into the partyfold by State president and other leaders. Sat Pal Karlupia said that he alongwith others have been imprsssed by the ideology and principles of BJP and hence took a decision to work for this national party. Meanwhile BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas in a function organized in Kathua lambasted on the state coalition Govt for adopting the policy of discriminatory with Jammu region and being failed on all fronts. While inaugurating district office of BJP at Kathua Manhas said for the protection of Dal Lake in Srinagar the govt has sanctioned 356 crore while Mansar lake and other lakes in Jammu province were neglected for their protection and preservation. He also said that the Jammu region has plenty of tourism potential which can be a good source of state income as well as the employment source for unemployed youth of the state, but it is very shocking to see that the state coalition Govt is not serious towards the upliftment of Jammu region. On the occasion the district BJP president Chagar Singh Ex- Chairman of Municipal council Dr Narinder Singh Jasrotia, Prem Nath Dogra, Anil Sharma, Gopal Mahajan, Ex- district president of BJP Sain Dass Gupta were present. |
