| Mufti greets people on Shivratri | | | early times report
JAMMU, Feb 19: PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayed has extended warm greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, which is celebrated as Hairath by the Kashmiri Pandits. In his message of greetings and good wishes, Mufti observed that this festival symbolizes the values of piety, devotion, brotherhood and harmony, which are an important facet and hallmark of our glorious pluralistic ethos. Wishing the people a happy Mahashivratri, Mufti prayed for sustained peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In a greeting message he said that Jammu and Kashmir has rich tradition of celebrating festivals in amity and brotherhood.
He said Shivratri observed by Kashmir pundits as "Hairath" has been traditional event of Hindu Muslim brotherhood and harmony. |
