The authorities of J K Industries Limited (JKIL) have been deliberately avoiding punitive action against the son of a late Minister, who is currently holding the post of Manager, Government Joinery Mill, Bari Brahmna unit without submitting his academic and technical education certificates despite 22 years of service. This influential person, who is also the brother-in-law of a sitting MLA of the ruling coalition from Kashmir province, has disobeyed all the departmental orders requesting to submit all the certificates and still continuing at his position much to the discomfort of his fellow counterparts.
According to sources, the said person was appointed as Assistant Manager in the organization based on the curriculum vitae and personal data submitted by him. His appointment was subjected to the production of all the attested copies of testimonials. During the intervening period of over twenty years, he was promoted as Sr. Asstt Manager and Manager again subjected to the condition of providing the requisite certificates. The department also served several notice to him during this period to produce his testimonials to which he didn't responded.
According to reports, the whole issue surfaced up when some of his counterparts in JK Industries ltd approached Court against his promotion to the post of Manager. And the management indicated in the objections filed that the said influential person is more qualified than the petitioners and demanded all his testimonials for producing them in court to defend their position. But again he disobeyed the order and didn't submit his testimonials in support of his academic and technical qualifications. Later, a final notice dated January 3, 2004 through order no. JKI /Adm / PF-97/ 795 was also served upon him to submit all his testimonials within five days from the issue of the letter. But till date, neither he has submitted documents nor has the management of JK Industries initiated any action against him.
It is mention that complaint in this regard was also registered in State Accountabilty Commission (SAC) a year ago. Meanwhile, the management of JK Industries has been evading any action against the said person owing to his relation with the sitting MLA of the ruling coalition. Earlier, he was under the shield of his father, who was the tall political figure of his times.
