`Omar has nobody to blame except his advisors' `Omar has nobody to blame except his advisors' | Beyond News | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 20: The Chief Minister was in news last week because of his advisors. The State Accountability Commission (SAC) put him on notice for appointing his advisors `in violation of constitution and all set norms'. According to SAC the appointments are political and without any lawful sanction. Although the Law Minister Ali Muhammad Sagar believes there was nothing wrong with the appointment of advisors, the SAC notice has been seen as a mole on not so clean slate of Omar Abdullah. Political experts believe that Omar would have performed better but for his advisors. Omar has a right to differ but as they say "vox populi vox dee" (voice of people is voice of God), he will find it difficult to justify their appointment especially after the SAC notice. Omar's political advisor, Davinder Singh Rana is a renowned and successful businessman but a new entrant into politics. The Chief Minister of a troubled state must have an experienced political advisor. Rana, on the contrary does not know much about politics his claims to the contrary notwithstanding. Mubarak Gul happens to be the other advisor of the Chief Minister. He also heads the grievance cell. He had been entrusted the job of listening to the woes of the people at his Church Lane office. Gul was rarely been seen in his office. People close to National Conference believe New Delhi would not have talked about `trust deficit' and governance deficit' had Gul remained present in his office during the agitation. "Chief Minister cannot reach the people especially in a state of emergency. Mubarak Gul was assigned the job of meeting the people but he failed the Chief Minister and National Conference", they said.
