| DDC Kathua inaugurates Bench Press Championship | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Feb 20 - 10th Senior Men, Women & Master Men Strength Lifting Championship and Incline Bench Press Championship commences here today.
Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Zahida Parveen Khan inaugurated the championship in the premises of Nav Bharat E.T.T College at Lachhipur Morh.
The championships are being organized by District Kathua Association with the collaboration of J&K State strength lifting association & under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council.
Speaking on the occasion DDC Kathua, Zahida Khan appealed the youth to take part in such co-curricular activities as it is the part of education. She also invited all other associations of the state to organize this type of competition in the District.
More than100 players from all over the state are taking part in the mega event.
On the first day of the event Dhananjay bagged 1st position in 50 kg weight category in both Strength Lifting and Incline Bench Press competitions. Whereas in 55kg weight category Adil Chowdhary bagged 1st and Mukesh Kumar declared second.
In 55kg weight category in Incline Bench press, Mohinder claimed 1st position, whereas Babhit Sharma and Adil Chowdhary bagged second and third place respectively.
Technical Director J&K Strength Lifting Association, Ashok Singh, Manmohan Singh of CTM, Sr Vice President DKSL. Ramnik Sharma, Gen. Sec. Ajay Gupta, Ganesh Sharma and Kawal Krishan (Members) were also present. |
