| PYS holds awareness programme on AIDS | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 21 : Progressive Youth Society (PYS), Ramnagar organized three awareness programmes related to AIDS Prevention & Control in collaboration with J&K Aids Prevention & Control Society in villages Bindla, Upper Barmeen & Hartaryan of block Ghordi in district Udhampur.
The people were made aware through folk media comprising of Dogri play "Aids di Bimari" written & directed by O P Shakir.
Main actors of play were Kewal Kumar Kewal, Uttam Singh, Mukesh Kumar Sharma and Deepak Sharma. The play put great impact on the public of these areas and entertained them.
The story of the play starts with a truck driver who is sick due to AIDS. The doctor lastly advises him to take some preventive measures.
In Bindla, Sarpanch Baldev Raj was the chief guest where Om Prakash numberdar, panch Sham Lal, panch Sadiq, panch Pushpa Devi, Hazi Jamaldin, panch Govind Ram and Badri Nath were other prominent persons present there.
In upper Barmeen, sarpanch Ram Lal Sharma was the chief guest where Bhushan Kumar Gupta, Nek Ram, Hari Ram, Sandokhu Ram, Bodh Raj & Sham Lal were other prominent persons present there.
In village Hartaryan, sarpanch Karan Dev Singh was the chief guest whereas Ajit Singh numberdar, panch Raj Kumar, panch Ashok Kumar, Ashok Sharma naib sarpanch & panch Kaka Ram were other prominent persons present in the function. |
