| Police seizes truck load of willow clefts | | |

JAMMU, Feb 21: Samba police have arrested three persons along with a truck load of willow clefts being smuggled to the neighbouring state of Punjab.
On receipt of specific and reliable information that a consignment of willow clefts is being smuggled to Punjab from Kashmir, a team of Samba Police headed by ASI Sunil Dutt Incharge Naka Nud Samba under the supervision of SSP Samba Israr Khan, Dy SP HQ Samba Munish Kumar Anand and SHO P/S Samba Inspector Rajinder Khajuria intercepted a truck No JK02AC -3987 at Naka Nud, Samba.
Police seized 4900 willow clefts and arrested three persons identified as Nissar Ahmed of Chursu, Awantipora, Ashok Kumar of Udhampur and Chamail Singh of Mardi Reasi.
Accordingly, a Case FIR No. 33/2012 under section 3 & 5 of the J&K Willow Act 2000, 6/15/16 Forest Act, 420/379/34 RPC has been registered with P/S Samba. |
