Implement agreement reached between JCC-Govt: Emply. unions

JAMMU, Feb 21: A day long convention of State Govt and Public Sector employees held at Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Krishna Nagar, here today under the presidentship of Mohammad Khursheed Alam, Ab Qayoom Wani, Ram Kumar Sharma and Mohd Gafoor Dar.
In the convention, near about 700 delegates representing various employees, workers and teachers organizations from all the three regions of the State Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh participated.
The agenda of the convention was implementation of the agreement reached between Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) leaders and Govt. and present challenges. While addressing the convention JCC leaders demanded implementation of Mediclaim Policy to the State Govt employees, regularization of contingent paid and contractual employees on academic arrangement, withdrawal of the orders in which unnecessary conditions have been imposed for withdrawal of GP Fund.
The representatives expressed serious concern over corruption, black-money, unemployment, violation of labour laws, minimum wages act and exploitation of state resources.
They vowed to start struggle against inhuman economic, social and cultural policies.
The convention appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene personally for considering the demands of the employees on which resolution has been adopted by the JCC in the convention keeping in view the sensitivity of the issues and interests of 5 lakh employees of the State.
The convention appealed employees and workers of the state to improve work culture and to provide corruption free administration to the people.
A unanimous resolution was passed in the delegate session where in the working and performance of JCC leadership was fully hailed.
The leaders of JCC Mohd Khurshid Alam, Ab Qayoom Wani, Ram Kumar Sharma and Mohd Gafoor Oar stressed upon the delegates and general employees to make JCC platform stronger and to expose the anti-employees elements who are always bent upon to sabotage the unity and struggle of the employees.
The Committee unanimously decided to provide solidarity and moral support to national level strike to be held on February 28 for the common demands of employees/workers.
