JWAM oppose holding of JMC elections | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 21: Jammu West Assembly Movement has strongly opposed the holding of the Jammu municipal corporation election. In this context a memorandum has been submitted to the Governor N N Vohra appealing him not to hold the urban local bodies and Jammu municipal corporation elections of the Jammu region. It also demanded to hold the immediate fresh elections of the Jammu west Assembly constituency as the MLA of the constituency has been expelled from the party. Talking to the media persons Sunil Dimple, president JWAM said that it has sent memorandum to the Governor N N Vohra for not holding of the election of the JMC and ULB of the Jammu region. He said we have also demanded to hold fresh election of the West assembly constituency as all the developments of the constituency has come to standstill after te expulsion of the MLA after the cross voting. Dimple further alleged the coalition Govt of the Congress National Conference led by the chief minister Omar Abdulla is bent upon to conduct the "ULB, JMC election by unfair means" with out following the proper norms and the by discriminating Jammu region. Dimple alleged that the Govt is trying to conduct formal and fake JMC election to draw crores of funds from the central govt and for the muliti corers scandals, which it will not allow and from which it is evident that how Govt announced the ULBs without conducting proper delimitation of the wards in the Jammu region. Sunil demanded the Governor N N Vohra not to hold municipal corporations elections for the Jammu municipal corporation till all the old and new voter lists are corrected, and updated as there irregularities and lakhs of the voters have not been enrolled in the voter lists, not received voter cards, ID Numbers, photo ID cards etc. |
