Successive NC regimes responsible for woes of Srinagar residents

SRINAGAR, Feb 21: Blaming successive National Conference (NC) regimes for all civic problems being faced by the residents of Srinagar city, former Finance Minister and senior leader of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Tariq Hamid Karra today regretted that except getting votes of the people NC regimes have done nothing to ameliorate lot of the residents of capital city. He said that Srinagar city was a glaring example of the wrong policies of the being propagated successive NC regimes in the state. Addressing a public meeting in Batmalloo area here today, Karra said that during the regime of PDP various developmental projects were started to provide basic amenities to the residents of Srinagar city but the present government has failed complete those projects."It is unfortunate that except getting votes of the people, NC led regime has not taken even a single step for the beautification of this city", he said and added that residents of Srinagar have been struggling for the basic amenities due to the causal approach being adopted by the present dispensation to solve day to day problems of the people. He, however, assured the gathering that PDP would vociferously highlight problems being faced by the residents of Srinagar city. Listing various revolutionary steps which were initiated during PDP led regime for the beautification of the city, Karra said that new master plan was implemented besides launching a massive beautification drive in the city by removing years old illegal encroachments from the city.
