Malik, Rana appeal youth to avail benefits of self employment schemes

JAMMU, Feb 21 : Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment, Abdul Gani Malik today asked unemployed youth to come forward to avail the benefits of self employment schemes launched by the government from time to time.
The Minister was addressing an impressive function organized by Department of Employment on the inauguration of 3-day Employment Fair at Nagrota. Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Davinder Singh Rana, was guest of honour on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Joint Director Employment, Munisha Sareen, Sarpanhs and Panchs, officers of various departments and a large number of youth were present on the occasion. Malik while lauding the efforts of employment department in organizing a chain of Employment Fairs across the state said that the department is doing significant work in providing up-to-date information, guidance and counseling to youth for setting up their self employment ventures.
Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Davinder Singh Rana in his speech impressed upon the people to motivate their unemployed youth towards self employment and take maximum benefit of the schemes under implementation. Calling upon panchs and sarpanchs to spread awareness about fairs, Rana said that tangible results have been registered following the organization of employment fairs in various districts of the state by the government.
He hoped that this step initiated by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah will bear fruit in the coming days and the crisis of un-employment will be curbed to a large extent. Appreciating Self Help Groups (SHG) for their effort to live a dignified and honourable life, Rana asked the employment department to provide more and more facilities to SHGs for strengthening their cadres and earning sufficient livelihood.
Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma also addressed the function and said that this year venue for employment fair has been chosen as Nagrota so that the people living in far-flung areas are benefitted.
He said 21 stalls have been set up by various departments to provide on-spot information to youth about various schemes.
He hoped that 3-day fair will benefit large population of people with sufficient awareness about self employment.
