| SRTC VRS employees reiterate demand of releasing dues | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 22: All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retirement Employees Association held a demonstration and dharna near Press Club here today.
The protest was held under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali - President and Surinder Singh - General Secretary.
The protesters strongly criticized the adamant attitude of the state government and SRTC management for not releasing their due drawn bills including leave salary, gratuity ex-gratia grant of 35 - 40% and 126 slab COLA while the bills for these have been prepared with effect from June 1, 2006 and were sent to Civil Secretariat for government approval.
However, due to the wrong representation of SRTC Management, the bills were returned back.
The VRS employees said that they are holding demonstration and dharnas for the last two years but the management is adopting an indifferent attitude towards their demands. The protesters said that SRTC employees were assured by the political leaders that justice will be done with us but as soon as they came to power they forget their commitments. |
