| JKTF demands to revoke suspension of principals | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 22: A deputation of Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) led by Qayoom Wani State Chairman of forum met with Director School Education, Jammu, Gulzar Ahmad Qureshi and submitted a representation requesting to review and revoke the suspension orders of several heads of the institutions. The deputation urged the director to reconsider the Order No.DSEJ/PA/1798-1807 dated 6-02-2012 and Order No.DSEJ/PA/6395-6405 dated 09-02-2012 in which more than 25 heads of the institutions were placed under suspension and the increment of several principals/head masters is kept withheld on the basis of 0% to 30% results in 10th class annual examination (winter zone). The representation was submitted on the grou-nds that Government has introduced CCE (Conti-nuous and Comprehensive evolutions scheme) which demands that every student from class 1st to 9th is to be upgraded to the next class, moreover the students are habitual of unit wise examination and abruptly have to appear in single with a large syllabus which they cannot cope up with their base remaining weak and are unable to perform better in 10th class. Lack of infrastructure and dearth of subject teachers is another reason for low pass percentage. Director School Education has a patient hearing and ordered to form a committee headed by Principal State Institute of Education (SIE) to look into the matter. Meanwhile a deputation of forum led by J A Agah and Roop Lal met with Chairman Board of School Education Jammu and submitted a resolution demanding curtailment of syllabus for 10th and 12th classes which otherwise is too large and in single paper system students are unable to cope up with. Chairman assured the deputation to fulfil the genuine demands at an earliest for the bright future of the students. |
