| NCP holds convention at Chadoora | | 'Demands probe into misuse of Technology Mission funds' | | JAMMU JAN-19-Welcoming the peace process between India and Pakistan, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in a one- day convention held at Chadoora in Kashmir under the chairmanship of its General Secretary J A Khan has reiterated its demand for replacement of State Right of Information Act by the most progressive Central Act. District president Badgam and other senior leaders of the party participated in the convention and highlighted the problems being faced by the people in the Kashmir Valley and urged the need for addressing these on priority basis. The speakers at the convention demanded regular and interrupted supply of water, electricity and adequate transport arrangements on the ensuing Moharam festival. The convention passed a resolution demanding that Jammu and Kashmir State be declared as herbal state like Utteranchal and Chattisgarh and 20 per cent matching grant made available to the growers and also demanded a probe into the alleged misuse of funds provided to the State under Technology Mission. Others who took part in the convention included Abdul Majid Dar, District President Anantnag, Hafizullah District President NYC Srinagar, Nissar Ahmed Dar YNC Vice President, Farooq Ahmed Nath, Manzoor Ahmed, Gulzar Ahmed Yatoo besides block presidents of Badgam district.
