Awareness Camp on Health Education held at DH | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Feb 22: An awareness camp on health education was organised today by science and technology council, Udhampur in collaboration with District Hospital (DH) Udhampur at conference hall of ANMT School Udhmapur. As many as 125 Anganwari Workers, Supervisors, Local ladies drawn from various Anganwari Centers of District Udhampur. Medical Superintendent District hospital Udhampur Dr. Chander Parkash who spoke on various health factors and awared the workers about various factors in modern life style affecting the health adversely. He laid stress on change in modern life style like having balanced and high fiber diet, increasing physical activity, avoiding tobacco products like cigarettes ,paan, chutki etc, use of alcohol and other drugs to keep away diseases like Blood Pressure, diabetes Mellitus, cancer, obesity and other non-communicable diseases. He discussed the social responsibility of workers and all the persons in increasing awareness about these factors. Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr. Deepak Kumar, awared the audience about various factors relating to HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and other communicable diseases and discussed the role of Anganwadi workers in increasing awareness about these diseases thus helping the society at large. Gynecologist District hospital Udhampur, Dr. Nidhi Mahajan also spoke about women health and in particular pregnancy related health issues. On the occasion, District coordinated Science & Technology department, Sanjay Kharoo divulged about the objectives of these awareness camps. In his speech he was emphatic about making rural people conscious about recognition of different diseases and thanks the district Hospital administration for their cooperation and support in organizing the event. |
