Foundation stone of Jammu stadium on March 18: Farooq | BCCI's Talent Hunt programme starts | | early times report JAMMU, Feb 22: Reiterating his commitment but with a new date, president of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) and Union Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah today said that the foundation stone of proposed international cricket stadium at Bajalta in the outskirts of Jammu will be laid on March 18. "Yes, we are committed to build cricket stadium in Jammu and to take first step in this direction, the JKCA has proposed March 18 as the date for laying of foundation stone. We are trying our level best to improve cricket in the state," said Dr Farooq while taking to newsmen on the sidelines of Talent Hunt Program organized by the BCCI at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here. Commenting on the poor performance of Indian team in the recent series against Australia, followed by tri-angular series on Australian soil, Dr Farooq said, " The boys should come up to the expectations of cricket lovers back home and the internal bickering should not reflect on the ground." Meanwhile former Indian Cricketer Sandip Patil, who declined to speak to the media, assessed the performance of the boys taking part in Talent Hunt programme. Nearly 300 young boys attending the trails sessions in the Talent Hunt programme looked enthusiastic. |
