| Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University lifts Rajouri volleyball C'ship | | | early times report
RAJOURI, Feb 22: Defeating the formidable side of Pinto Club Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University lifted the Rajouri Volleyball Championship at Degree College, here today. This 3-day tournament was held under the aegis of Ace of Spades Artillery Brigade and conducted by Shatrunash Regiment from February 20 to February 22..
The tournament under OP Sadbhavna is an endeavour to encourage sports and to spread goodwill amongst the youth of Rajouri region towards the Army in particular and nation as a whole.
A total of eight teams participated in the event namely Govt Degree College, Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University, Thanamandi Club, Hamirpur Fighters, Saaj Club, Pinto Club, Nawaz Club and Shadhra Sharief Club. The tournament was played on a knock-out basis. The finals were played between Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University and Pinto Club. In the scintillating Prize distribution ceremony, the winners team was awarded a cash prize of Rs 3000, individual track-suit and gold medals by Col Anurag Bhardwaj, Commanding Officer, Shat-runash Regiment. The Runners up team was awarded a cash prize of Rs 2000 and individual silver medals by AR Chaudhary, Registrar, BGSBU.
The teams were congratulated for an outstanding display of sportsmanship.
The tournament was widely appreciated by the youth and civil society of Rajouri. The participants and citizens of Rajouri appreciated the efforts of Shatrunash Regiment for conducting such a tournament. They also thanked Ace of Spades Artillery Brigade for promoting the sport and setting the platform for many budding sportsmen. |
