| Chib flags off Scouts, Guides for 3-day meet at Katra | | | early times report
JAMMU, Feb 22: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, R S Chib today flagged off Bharat Scouts and Guides for 3-day meet at Katra, Reasi. The meet has been sponsored by Governor N N Vohra in which as many as 200 Scouts and Guides and 40 instructors from across the state are participating. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Scouts and Guide is an international organization which is working in over 100 countries.
He said that it teaches the traits of leadership, character building, besides basic principles in their day to day life for becoming responsible citizens.
Chib said such camps inculcate sense of brotherhood and amity among participants, besides strengthening unity and integrity of the country and state as well. The Minister comp-limented the organizers for organizing the camp and hoped that it would prove beneficial for the participants.
Among others, State Commissioner, Commissioners and other ranks of the organization were present on the occasion. |
