| Akhnoor migrants to get 5 marlas of land | | Compensation for farmers in Gurez soon | | Jammu, Jan 19-In reply to a question by Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi, Minister for CAPD Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din told Legislative Assembly today that the compensation cases of the land which have come under the fencing of LOC in Gurez have been sent to the concerned Army Officer by Sub-District Magistrate Gurez on 11.02.2005 and are under active consideration for payment of compensation.
Replying to supplementaries raised by Mr. Ashwani Kumar, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar, Mr. Sharief-ud-Din Shariq, Mr. Qaiser Jamshed Lone and Mr. Mian Altaf Ahmad, Mr. Kaif-ur-Rehman and others, the Minister said government is conscious about the difficulties of the farmers whose land has come under the fencing of LOC. He said notification to this effect has been issued and acquisition process of land for paying compensation to the owners of land is under way, adding a high-level committee meeting would be convened soon under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad for speedy disposal of all such cases.
