JAMMU, Feb 23: Winning four gold medals in different field and track events, constable, Anju Bala led the Indian Reserve Police (IR) 15th battalion women from the front in athletics event of the ongoing Inter-battalion Sports Meet of Armed Police at University of Jammu ground, here today.
She also emerged as fastest runner by winning sprint gold. Later, she played a key role in 15th battalion's gold win in 4x100 meters relay. Other three medals Anju won by 100 meters race, Shot Put and Javelin Throw events.
To the surprise of athletes from other participating battalions, the 15th battalion women won gold medals in all the 10 events which were decided today. In total, 19 medals were won by the 15th battalion women thereby completely dominated the athletics event.
On the other hand, the 17th battalion of the IR bagged two gold medals out of five events decided in men's athletics today.
