Govt has lost moral authority to continue: Mehbooba | | | Early Times Report jammu, Feb 23: Even as the main opposition party PDP maintained silence inside the Central Hall during the Governor's address, the party president Mehbooba Mufti lashed out with expressions full of sarcasm and criticism, contending this government had no moral authority to govern. She accused the government of being busy in amassing wealth rather than serving common masses. "This is the first state in the entire country where the entite government right from Chief Minister to senior cabinet ministers are facing charges of crime from corruption to murder to nepotism.......", mehbooba said while speaking to media outside the Assembly." The government had lost moral authority to govern, though they do not actually govern, Mehbooba said sarcastically. The PDP chief said though there are serious issues concerning people who have been denied even the basic facilities, the government is busy only in 'settling' their own scandals and scams. "There are a plethora of scams surfacing one after the other ......no only cabinet colleagues but CM too is facing grave charges and investigations .... all this indicate the government is busy in amassing wealth ", Mehbooba said all these issues had diverted the attention of the government from main duty of governance. The government is busy in all these issues rather than working for the people so they have no right to continue, she maintained. |
