BMS and others to support nationwide stir on Feb 28 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 23: Trade Unions affiliated to Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) in Jammu and Kashmir held a joint meeting under the chairmanship of Vijay Chendal State President and have supported the nationwide strike called by from BMS, INTUC, AITUE, CITU, HMS etc on Feb 28.. The meeting discussed issues like rising price of essential commodities, me-mbers urged to control rising price through appropriate corrective and universal distributive measures and containing speculation in commodity market, to protect employment, strict enforcement of all basic labour laws, social security for unorganized workers and creation of national funds. They also demanded to abolish contract system in time with the recommendations of National Commi-ssion and against disinvestment of profit making public sector under takings, amendment of minium wages and fixation of minimum wage at of less then Rs 11000/- per month. Other demands raised in the meeting were pension scheme, provident fund and increase the gratuity. In the meeting all union of public sectors banks industrial workers local body co-operative sector, Govt employees and industrial workers will participate in protest on Feb 28. |
