| BJP demands President's rule in J&K | | |  EARLY TIMES report
Jammu, Feb 23: The present NC-Congress coalition has become a safe house for corrupt ministers. With each passing day, real faces of the ministers are getting exposed but the Chief Minister do not deem it necessary to take any action against them.
This was alleged by BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas while addressing the party activists at Kachi Chawni chowk, where they were protesting against state's ministers, demanding dismissal of the government and imposition of Presi-dent's rule in the state.
Earlier, the party activists had taken out a protest march and burnt the effigy of the coalition government. It was organised by District Jammu Mahanagar under its District President Rajesh Gupta. Manhas said that our state is fast heading towards being getting honoured with the title of most corrupt state in India as more and more faces of the state's ministers are being exposed for their involvement in corrupt practices and favouritism.
He said that there has been corruption related complaints and even issuing of notices by State Accountability Commis-sion (SAC) and other agencies against majority of the ministers of Omar Abdullah led coalition government but still they are being shielded by the Chief Minister just to remain in the chair. The BJP Chief said that during the last four days, the SAC has issued notices related to two of the senior ministers, including Education Minister and Finance Minister, over favouritism and corruption matters. Surfacing of new faces of ministers in such cases should leave no one any doubt that this coalition has any commitment to eradicate corruption.
This coalition has rather been encouraging corruption and nepotism. He said that the state can only be saved from the clutches of this corrupt government if Governor rule is imposed and all the corrupt ministers are booked under law.
He declared that the BJP will not sit as mute spectator and raise the issue more vigoursly, both on roads and in the assembly. Earlier, the party activists had scuffle with the heavy contingent of policemen deployed to stop them from holding the protest.
