| NAAC team reviews functioning of ASC, JU | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 23: A peer team of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), of University Grants Commission (UGC) arrived at University of Jammu for accreditation of Academic Staff College (ASC).
The three member team comprises of Prof N. S Gajbhiye, Vice- Chancellor, Dr. Hari Singh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar, Prof M S K Khokar, Head, Rural Technology & Dean College Development Council, Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur and Prof U. Subba Rao, Bhim Rao Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad. The first day of NAAC Team commenced with introductory meeting with Prof M P Singh Ishar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof Neelam Saraf , Director ASC and Faculty of Academic Staff College followed by meeting with key functionaries of the University, members of the Advisory Committee, Deans of Various faculties, Senior Academicians and University Officers. In his Welcome Address Prof. Naresh Padha provided the brief profile of the University. The Vice Chancellor Prof Ishar and peer team members of NAAC were given a detailed PowerPoint presentation about the functioning of the ASC by Ranjeet Kalra, Assistant Director, ASC in which ASC vision was discussed at length and also the various academic activities, courses conducted, achievements, constraints, thrust areas, participant responses and innovations adopted by the UGC Academic Staff College over the past six years of its existence.
Later in the day, NAAC team held an interaction with invited course coordinators and resource persons. |
