| Rs. 3 Crore allotted for development of RS Pura | | | JAMMU | JAN 20 The minister of rural development, Jugal Kishore and Minister of Finance Prem Sagar Aziz applauded the role of Press information Bureau, ministry of information and broadcasting, government of India for launching public information campaigns (PICs) all over the country, including Jammu and Kashmir, for making the public aware about different schemes of the central government which are meant for the welfare of general public. Both ministers were chief guests of two separate sessions on the second day today in the on-going three day Bharat Nirman public information campaign being organized by PIB at Bana Singh Stadium in R.S. Pura in coordination with various media units of information and broadcasting ministry. Addressing the gathering, Jugal Kishore said that the development of rural areas and improving the living conditions of rural people has been the primary concern in the economic planning and development process of the government. He said that union ministry of rural development is implementing a number of programmes, which are aimed at sustainable development in rural areas with a focus on w eaker and vulnerable sections. The minister further said that poverty eradication, development in rural areas and generation of self-employment avenues amongst rural poor are an integral part of the strategy of the government. Prem Sagar Aziz, while speaking on flagship programmes of the central government which includes Bharat Nirman, national rural health mission, integrated child development services scheme, Mid-day meal scheme, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, right to information Act etc. called upon the people to make themselves aware about these government schemes by their participation in order to make India prosperous. He said that if the people would be aware about these public oriented schemes, they could question the authorities concerned that why it has not been implemented despite being sanctioned for particular area. He urged the people to fully utilize the loans being provided by different banks for generation employment avenues. On the occasion it was disclosed that an amount of Rs. 2.85 crores has been allotted for development of R.S. Pura including Suchetgarh under Border area development programme (BADP).
