| Tiny tots hr. Sec. School, Handa college, celebrates annual sports day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 24 : Tiny tots hr sec school, sainik colony branch and Handa college of education today celebrated its annual sports day . MLA Poonch Ajaz Jan was the chief guest on the occasion .
The function was presided over by the chairperson of the school veena handa .
The guests were formally welcomed by Gurpreet handa the director of the school and handa college of education. The chief guest and the guest of honor were presented bouquets by the chairperson.
The colorful contingents of the different houses carrying their respective flags gave the salute to the chief guest. The tiny tots of kindergarten, carrying the tricolor in their tiny hands waved as they marched past the dias, were a feast to the eyes. The final events which were decided today were the long jump, various individual sprints, and the long distance races. The junior taekwando drill was a sight of coordination among the tiny tots where as the senior drill had all the thrills with students exhibiting breaking of marbles with their bare hands etc.
The esteemed guests and the audience were apprised that the sports events and various other competitions were going on since many days . The winners of badminton, chess and carrom championships had already been decided.
The semi-finals and heats of various other events were to be held now. Dr vikram handa the principal of the schooll highlighted the achievements made by the school in the preceeding year with special emphasis on two of its students who brought laurels to the school with mr rohit koul an ex student of the school becoming the first north indian to break into the international formiula circuit,. He is currently partnering narain kartikheyan in formula three and representing the country.
Ajaz jan the chief guest for the day applauded the efforts made by the school in bringing about such a well organised function, highlighting the importance of sports in the life of the students. He lauded the management for rendering a great service to the state for the last 40 years and urged them to keep up the good work. He urged the management and the trust to open up branches of the school in far flung areas of the state. He then gave away the medals to the prize winners of the day.
The program for the day was hosted by kiran zutshi the senior most faculty member of the school.
