JKPDTU holds meet to highlight problems of SRTC employees | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Feb 24: A delegation of employees of SRTC who opted for volunteer retirement met here today with State President of the JKPDTU. Suresh Sharma and apprised him about their problems. Meanwhile JKPDTU also has decided to extend support to nationwide stir on Feb 28 Sharma listened to their grievances and warned the SRTC Managing Director to square up the final accounts of these employees who are on roads for the last over 2-3 years. "On the one hand the SRTC management accepts VRS of the employees and at the same time fresh recruitment under the garb of adhoc, consolidated or contractual is made without referring the post to the Service Selection Board. It is a well planned scandal of fresh appointment under the nose of present management and it is criminal on the part of the management to hold back the earned COLA and other revised service monetary benefits of the period these employees were in service, he said. He warned the management to settle down the issue within shortest possible time lest the JKPDU will not only support these hapless employees but also practically support their struggle. On this occasion he also appealed the Government that burning issue of regularization of EVs treating their service for qualifying as permanent or RETs in the department, fresh revised policy for regularization of Rehbar-e-Zirat preferably age-wise, removal of pay anomalies in the grades of clerks and other cadres. Senior PDTU leaders namely Prem Singh Bawa, Anchal Bakshi, Randip Jasrotia, Manohar Singh, B.N.Singh Billowria, Jasmeet Singh , Supinder Singh and Dr Vikas were also present in the meeting. JKPDTU also decided to support the country wised strike call by the various central trade unions on Feb 28 in order to pay solidarity the working class.
