Cheat held for "selling" blood at SMGS hospital | | | early times report JAMMU, Feb 24: A youth was today apprehended by police for fraudulently charging money from the attendant of a patient undergoing treatment at SMGS hospital here, who needed blood. Nasreen of Kallar in Surankote, Poonch, was undergoing treatment at SMGS hospital. Yesterday, doctors told her husband Baddar Din to arrange blood for her. Police sources said while Baddar was making efforts to arrange blood, one Yasser Mohammad, son of Mohammad Arif of Dhundak, Surankote, approached him and told him that he knew one Nitin Sharma who could arrange blood for him as he had good contacts in the SMGS blood bank. Yasser told him that Nitin had some days back arranged blood for his relatives also, the sources added. Baddar then contacted Nitin who allegedly charged Rs 6,000 from him for arranging blood. Sources said Nitin himself went inside the blood bank, asking Baddar to wait outside. However, when he did not turn up, he lodged a complaint in this regard with the SMGS police post. Police were able to arrest Nitin today from his house at Last Morh, Sarwal, and recover Rs 6,000 from him. A case in this regard was registered against him under section 420 of RPC at SMGS police post.
