Centre grants Rs. 1901 crore to J&K under PMGSY: Chib

JAMMU, Feb 25: State government today said that an amount of Rs.1901 crore have been received by the state under PMGSY from central government. This was stated by Minister for Medical Education R.S.Chib, on behalf of the Minister for R&B, in reply to a question raised by Jehangir Mir. Minister said that out of 1346 sanctioned schemes in the state, 521 schemes stand completed till date and 825 schemes are under execution.
Supple mentaries to the question were raised by Syed Asgar Ali, Murtaza Khan, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardi, Naresh Gupta, Javed Rana and Ajay Sadhotra. In reply to another question by PDP MLC Ashraf Mir, Chib said that to curb the traffic jam in Srinagar city, the Government has proposed to construct flyo vers , grade separators and subways in the city. These include flyover at Hyderpora, from Jahangir to Natipora junction, Sanatnagar junction, Bemina junction and Shaltang junction.
The grade separator will also be constructed at SKIMS Soura junction, he added.
Regarding provision of more parking places in the city in view of increased motor population, the Minister said that SDA is devising a project for multi level parking at Sheikh Bagh Srinagar, besides Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) is proposing multi level mechanized parking at old KMD Lal Chowk under trance- II under ADB loan costing Rs. 25 crore having capacity to accommodate 288 light vehicles.
The work on the project would be started this year, he added. In reply to yet another question, by Javid Ahmed Rana the Minister said that 1944 junior engineers (Mech) have been placed as in-charge Assistant Engineers in their own pay and grade since 2004 till date. He said of them 73 JEs(Mech) have been regularized as AEEs, adding that the roster provisions of SRO 144 have maintained while their elevation.
Minister for Medical Education R.S. Chib on behalf of Rural Development Minister informed the House that 204 beneficiaries under normal category, 32 under up gradation, 34 under additi onality, 166 under BADP have been covered under Indira Awas Yojna (IAY) scheme in last 2 years in Marh block of Jammu district. He was replying to a question by Ajay Kumar Sadhotra.
He said 3837 persons were also given job cards under MGNREGA during this period.
He further informed the House that Rs. 5671.929 lakhs have been allocated under MGN REGA to the Marh block during 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 out of which Rs. 5036.1 lakh have been expended so far.
