| DH organizes cancer detection camp | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Feb 25: A free Screening and Cancer Detection Camp was organized in District Hospital Udhampur in collaboration with Fortis Escorts Hospital Amritsar to create awareness about the cancer among the masses and to explain them about the importance of early detection of the cancer.
The camp was formally inaugurated by District Development Commission Udhampur, P.K Pole here today.
Appreciating the efforts of organizers of the camp, the DDC said that it is the need of the hour to create mass awareness among the people about this deadly disease and a camp like this is a step in that direction. He said that the timely detection of deadly disease like cancer would help to save the precious life.
Apart from consultation to cancer patients, Consultant Medical Oncologist and Hematologist, Dr. Rajesh Gupta from Fortis Escorts Hospital, Amritsar thoroughly examined the patients.
Among others, Superintendent District Hospital Udhampur, Dr. Chander Parkash, Dy Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Santosh, Dy Superintendent DH, Dr. Deepak, District Health officer, staff, general public at large attended the inaugural programme of the camp.
Education material about techniques of self breast examination was distributed among attendees.
Dr. Chander Parkesh highly thanked the representative of Fortis Escort Hospital for hold such a valuable camp to aware the masses about the prevention and detection of cancer. He also hoped that people would further promote awareness of the risks of common cancers and understand the importance of early detection. |
