Dr. Farooq asks youth to channelize their energies in right perspective

JAMMU, Feb 25 : Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy Dr Farooq Abdullah today asked the cadets of Bharat Scouts & Guides to work for betterment of the society by bringing awareness about health hazards and social evils. He asked youth to shun cigarette smoking, drinking and use of narcotics in order to secure future of nation and the State. The Union Minister was addressing a valedictory function of 3- days Bharat Scouts & Guides Camp held at Katra.
Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Mr. R.S. Chib was also present on the occasion. Dr. Farooq impressed upon the youth to channelize their energies in right perspective and make the State proud of their contribution in strengthening the bonds of communal harmony and brotherhood among various sections of the society. While elaborating on the activities of New and Renewable Energy Department the Union Minister said that the Centre Government is doing yeoman's service to the society by extending various facilities with respect to solar lights in far flung areas and also in setting up of bio-gas plants at the required sites so that the people in general are benefitted by these facilities
Minister for Medical Education while addressing the function expressed his gratitude to the Union Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah for sparing his precious time to attend the valedictory function. He said that the State is proud of the services being rendered by Bharat Scouts & Guides in promoting communal harmony among the people from various walks of life.
He hoped that the youth connected with this mission will continue for strengthening patriotic spirit and also in imbibing the sense of discipline among various cadres. Around 235 trainees and trainers from various parts of the State were drawn to attend the 3-days camp at Katra. A Scintillating cultural bonanza was presented by the students on the occasion for which Union Minister awarded Rs. 20,000 as a token of appreciation to the participating youth. The dignitaries distributed prizes among the participants of the camp. The function was among other attended by Additional CEO, Mata Vaishno Shrine Board, Dr. M.K. Bhandari, DIG, Udhampur, Jagjit Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Reasi R.S. Tara, Commissioner Scouts & Guides, I.D. Soni.
