| Revoke AFSPA, demands NC MLC | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 25: National Conference (NC) MLC Khalid Najeeb Suhrawardy today demanded revocation of AFSPA in view of the improved security situation of the state.
He said this during discussion on motion of thanks on Governor's address in Legislative Council today. The motion in this regard was moved by Khalid Najib Suhrawardy. Initiating the discussion, Khalid Najib Suhrawardy demanded revocation of AFSPA in view of the improved security situation of the State.
He said some vested interests do not want peace to return to the state and thus are raising the bogey of apprehensions.
He demanded appointment of men of integrity to the State Vigilance Organization (SVO). Sheikh Ghulam Rasool congratulated the government for the successful completion of Panchayat election in the State.
He said time has come when internal dimension of Kashmir issues is to be addressed. Syed Asgar Ali demanded monitoring mechanism for implementation of Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA). He said that Governor's address has not discussed issue of regional imbalances in the State. He demanded publication of report of interlocutors. |
