| President Hu Jintao arrives in Delhi | | | NEW DELHI | Nov 20
Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived in Delhi on Monday on a four-day visit aimed at giving a boost to the developing relations between the two fastest growing economies. Leading a high-level delegation, Hu was received at the Palam Technical airport by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Minister-in-Waiting Kapil Sibal. He will be accorded a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday in the presence of President A P J Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The first Chinese President to visit India in 10 years, Hu will also visit Mahatma Gandhi's memorial at Rajghat to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation before holding talks with Dr Singh on a wide range of issues. At least 10 agreements, including the Bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Act, will be signed by the two countries. During his stay in India, Hu will travel to Agra to see the Taj Mahal and visit Mumbai where he will meet Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and top business leaders. The Chinese president, who came from Vietnam after attending the APEC meeting, will go to Pakistan at the end of his India visit on November 23. |
