| Khour sarpanchs , panchs express grievances over working of BDO | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Khour, Feb 25: A deputation led by Bhupinder Singh Manhas, Sarpanch Sarwal Panchayat falling under Khour Block met on BJP State General Secretary Sat Sharma at party headquarters on Saturday and expressed their grievances over the working of Block Development Officer of Khour Block. Bhupinder Singh Manhas and other members of the deputation said that the government has declared to develop Sarwal, Hamirpur Kona, Pargwal, Pindi and Bhalwal Mulo falling in Pargwal Panchayat of Khour block as Model villages. The work for the same is under progress but the Gram Sabha is not being taken into confidence over any matter.
The concerned Block Development Officer (BDO) is taking every decision on his own and deems it not necessary to even seek the advise/ guidance from any one, including Sarpanch or Panches of the area.
They said that despite repeated representations, the said BDO is continuing to work as per his own desire. Sat Sharma, after getting details of the grievances of the deputationists, rang on Deputy Commissioner Jammu and narrated the whole matter.
The DC in return assured to look into the matter and ensured of fair functioning of BDO office. Sat Sharma said that there has been a complaint against the government officials, who has the patronage of ruling coalition's ministers and MLAs.
No attention is paid towards what the local people demand or need. He said it is indeed a serious matter and assured the depu-tationists that if the BDO do not works in an impartial manner the party activists will come on roads with the aggrieved people to register protests.
