| AIBCU demands implementation of Mandal Commission | | | early times report
JAMMU, Feb 25 : All Indian Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) Social has again reiterated for the implementation of Mandal Commission. In a press conference here today Abdul Majid Malik President of the Union stated J&K State is the only State where Govt yet has to reservations as granted by the Apex Court of the Country vide its judgment of 1992 on MandaI Commission Report and that too under the garb of Art 370. "Govt has set up Backward Classes Commission in the State under the direction of the Apex Court over MandaI Report and has also set up OBC Advisory Board in Feb 2010 but has failed to implement the Apex Court's judgment on MandaI Report, he regretted.
He said the Govt has implemented the Anand Committee report of 1980 which has already been superseded by the Apex Court Judgment of 1992 and said it is a gross violation of the Apex Court's directions.
He alleged now the Govt has started a new conspiracy for granting OBC Status to Pahari speaking people in a stealthily manner by way of its two member Committee report based over the false and fictitious stories. "After making all futile exercises to get 'ST' status for Pahari Speaking people now the attention is diverted towards OBC status to grab OBC share in this way, he apprehended.
Further highlighting demands, he demanded enhancement of reservation quota from 2% to 27%; enhancement in creamy layer from 3lac to 9 Iac, one certificate on the name of OBCs instead of OSC; Abolishing income criteria for OBCs student scholarship; 27% reservation in admission in Kendrya Vidyalaya Schools and political reservation in both the houses Legislative Assembly, / Legislative Council alongwith Municipal Corporations and Municipalities.
