| Baig's sarcasm in oratory best.....! | | | | Jammu: Known for his articulate skills, PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig today made pricks of satire and sarcasm while spoke in the discussion over corruption. He spun the expressions in a make believe manner , even as treasury benches could not take it so plainly.He started by saying even though he was not well having complaint of less sugar, PDP leader said "I could not say NO to Mufti Sahab as I thought he would take it as my 'ISHQ' with NC and "DOSTI' with Your goodself'....", leaving a light laughter in the House. " I must tell you I have only less sugar in the body but won't have sugary tongue today...", he remarked sarcastically. He first irked the Speaker Mohammad Akbar Lone though indirectly questinong why he delayed acceptance of adjournment motion for two days.When Baig pointed out and attributed delay to government's nod , saying it was finally due to presnece of NC Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah in the visitor's Gallery whose ' political experience' clicked and made it happen, this prompted Speaker to interuppt and intervene to say he had not conducted the House "at the behest of the government. " I know you are well vesred with law and leagl matters......but you must understand I have my own way of conducting the House.....so don't try to give an impression that I have acted under the instruction of the government". Baig stretched it further by quoting the famous urdu couplet of Ghalib ".....Yarab Na Voh Samjay Hain Na Samjaygey Meri Baat....".Mindful of the presence of party patron Mufti Mohammad Syed Baig did make it a point to say a few words of praise and respect for his politicla maturity, when he said, "I have learnt it from Mufti sahab that there can be political and ideological differences but we should never make accusations in perosonalsed manner." |
