Coalition has lost moral right to continue: Manhas | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 26: Accusing the present NC-Congress coalition of taking the state to new heights of corruption, BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas said that this government has lost its moral right to continue in power. Manhas was addressing "Jan Sammelan" organised in Ward No 5 of Jammu East Constituency organised by District President BJP Rajesh Gupta. Manhas said that one case of corruption after the other has been surfacing in the state having direct involvement of ministers. Instead of taking action against these ministers, the Chief Minister is shielding them, which is indeed unfortunate. He said that the tenure of Omar led present coalition will be remembered as black period in the history of post independence in J&K as his government has least concern for the welfare of masses. Instead of focussing on the proper working of their respective departments for the public, the ministers in the government are in a race to become millionaires overnight by adopting all means. Promotion of dynastic rule is other agenda of Congress, NC and PDP, he alleged. National Executive Member & Jammu East MLA Ashok Khajuria said that how unfortunate it is that the four generations of the tenants of Evacuees property have perished agitating for the last 60 years for grant of ownership rights. Every time before elections they are given assurances, but after assuming power nothing is done to meet their genuine demands. Rajesh Gupta said that ward No 5 is a "guldasta" of social harmony and brotherhood. With the blessings of each community, "I got an opportunity to represent this ward in Jammu Municipal Corporation for five years and worked in an impartial manner as a result of which this ward has achieved the distinction of being most developed. Similar sammelans were also organised in Ward Nos 28, 29, 34 and 39. |
