JAMMU, Feb 26: A forum to fight discrimination with erstwhile district Doda was launched here today. The forum under the name of Bhaderwah-Bhalessa-Chirala Development and Welfare Forum (BBCDWF) would serve as a platform for people of country's second most backward district i.e. erstwhile District Doda where they can come together, provide their valuable input, share their concern and join hands for addressing developmental concerns of the area, said Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal, who was elected as Chairman of the Forum, while interacting with the media persons. Iqbal said that the Forum would work intensively for maintaining secular fabric of erstwhile District Doda. Forum has prioritized revival of age old socio-cultural ties among people of Bhaderwah, Bhalessa and Chirala. It would work for upliftment of downtrodden sections of the society across entire Bhaderwah-Bhalessa-Chirala belt. Forum would take up the issue of inclusion of potential tourist areas on the international and national map with the concerned agencies on war footing basis, he added. Chairman said that it would plead with sports authorities to include Bhaderwah among the destinations which have winter sports potential in Jammu and Kashmir. It would project demand for creating a golfing circuit across Bhaderwah-Bhalessa Chirala belt. Forum would make road connectivity across scenic Bhaderwah-Bhalessa-Chirala belt its prime issue and wherever required, even force authorities at the helm of affair to do the needful, he maintained. |
