| Youth Congress demands unseating of "tainted" BJP MLAs | | | early times report
UDHAMPUR, Feb 26: Youth Congress leaders and NSUI district president have demanded unseating of seven "tainted" BJP MLAs. Talking to reporters here today, PYC leader R S Pathania, Udhampur DYC president Sumeet Magotra and district NSUI president asked for immediate deseating of seven MLAs of BJP (now JKDF) and three MLAs of another political party for violating the party directive and not voting for their respective party candidates in the last council elections. Pathania said violation of the party whip "makes a legislator liable for disqualification". He demanded a CBI inquiry into the infamous 'cash-for-vote' scandal. Welcom-ing JKNPP supremo's recent tirade against corruption, Pathania called upon him to make it more meaningful and ethical. He also said that the anti-Jammu stance of PDP on the issues of Dogra certificate and Amarnath land could not be overlooked so easily. Congress leaders -- Jeevan Sanotra, Mulkh Raj, Bihari Lal and Mohan Lal - were also present on the occasion. |
