| Bovine smuggling bid foiled | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 27: In continuation to drive launched by District Police Kathua to nab the drug peddlers/Bovine Smugglers and persons indulging in illegal trade of distillation of illicit liquor. Today on 27.02.2012 a
Kathua Police foiled a bid to smuggle bovines when it seized a truck carrying 11 animals.
According to sources, a police party of P/S Rajbagh laid down a Naka at NHW near P/S Rajbagh and intercepted one truck bearing registration No PB06K-2390 which was on way from Jammu to Punjab. The driver of vehicle managed to escape from the spot leaving behind vehicle loaded with 11 bovine animals. After preliminary enquiry it was established that these bovine animals were being smuggled from Jammu to Punjab illegally.Police have launched a man hunt to nab the absconding driver. A case FIR No 28/2012 U/S188 RPC, 3 PCA Act stands registered at PS Rajbagh. |
