Bhalla chairs RKS meeting, reviews facilities at Rajiv Gandhi hospital | 'Raika-Rajiv Nagar alternate link road soon' | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 27: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla as Chairman Rogi Kalayan Samiti (RKS), Rajiv Gandhi and LRPU hospital Gangyal today chaired a meeting of medical and para-medical staff members to review the facilities being provided to the people as well as Leprosy patients in the hospital. Medical Superintendent Dr Gurmeet Kour besides medical and para-medical staff, sarpanch Gangyal and prominent citizens were present on the occasion. Interacting with the faculty members, the Minister said the Government was making all out efforts to provide best possible medicare facilities to the people in hospital adding that for this purpose there is no constraint of funds in health sector. Bhalla asked the hospital authorities to put sign board of the hospital at the entry of the road so that outside locality patients could also avail the benefits of medicare facilities are being available in the hospital. Regarding blacktopping of approach road to hospital, the Minister said funds have already been allotted to the concerned executing agency and the work would be started by the start of mecademisation season. Responding to locals demand, Bhalla informed that Health Ministry has already given consent for providing Ultra sound facilities to the people. He asked to make Ultrasound unit functional in the hospital so that people do not face any inconvenience. For providing neat and clean atmosphere to the ailing patients, he asked to deploy more safaikarmcharis in the hospital. Bhalla said Government has approved Rs 4.49 crore under Water Supply Scheme Raika to meet the drinking water requirement of Raika, Rahim Nagar and Bandian villages' people. He said laying of water supply pipes and 50000 gallon discharge capacity deep drill tube well is under progress in the area and would be completed within stipulated time frame. Minister said that Government has also prepared a detailed project report of Rs 1.50 crore for construction of one and half kilometre long alternate road from Raika to Rajiv Nagar adding that the project could be started after completing tendering formalities.
