400 plants distributed to farmers free of cost | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, Feb 27: In a step aimed towards increasing green cover and to enhance the pace of afforestation, a private nursery today distributed 400 plants free of cost to farmers of Upper Bhajwal panchayat-B of Sunderbani Tehsil of Rajouri district. The awareness camp was organised in the panchayat by a private nursery named Sharma plant productive and nursery.In this awareness camp, farmers and locals of this panchayat were made aware about the importance of plantation and increase in green cover and were also provided with valuable information regarding use of certain modern and modified techniques and equipment in plantation to ensure successful growth of plants and complete plantation. After spreading this valuable information among locals, this private nursery distributed about 400 plants which will be used in the mass level plantation drive during coming days. These distributed plants include plants of fruits species including peach, guava, lemon, orange etc and plants of several hybrid flowering species. In this awareness camp, owner of this private nursery Ramesh Chander was present as chief guest while sarpanch of the Upper Bhajwal-B panchayat of Sunderbani Satpal Sharma and Panches Om Parkash, Shashi Sharma, Guddu Ram among hundreds of locals attended this camp who thanked this private nursery. |
